Egloshayle Parish, like its adjoining neighbour St Breock, pre-dates the establishment of Wadebridge.

It is bounded on the north by St Minver and St Kew, on the east by St Mabyn and Helland, on the south by Nanstallon and on the west by St Breock where it is separated by the River Camel.

Significant settlements within the Parish include Washaway and Sladesbridge, together with the Trenant Industrial Estate on the outskirts of Wadebridge. A section of the Camel Trail, a significant tourist attraction, passes through the Parish and there are also well used public footpaths which include the Hingham Bridlepath which follows the River Allen.
