87. Declaration of Interests/Dispensation Requests. – None
Comments were raised about the condition of part of the Egloshayle Cemetery and the role of Wadebridge Town Council. The Parish Council made a contribution to costs and it was noted that a Site Meeting was being arranged together with Cornwall Council in October.
Local residents in attendance raised serious concerns about the Trevarner development, referring to acoustic barriers, drainage, layout, village traffic issues, sealed windows etc, all of which had already been highlighted by the Parish Council, notwithstanding the entire development now fell within the Town Council boundary. Last weeks Town Council meeting had enabled a presentation from the Developers but this had been deemed less than satisfactory and there were still many questions to be answered. It was therefore suggested that a further presentation be hosted at the Shuttleworth Hall by the Developers, for local residents to attend as part of the consultation process. This was supported by all Councillors present and the Chairman is to approach Mark Evans the Planning Officer.
89. Minutes of the Previous Meeting
Resolved that Minutes of the Meeting on Tuesday 17th August 2021 be approved as a correct record.
Proposed Cllr Howard & seconded Cllr Oram .
90. Matters Arising
(a) King Georges Field - ongoing
(b) NHP – Indications from last weeks Town Council Meeting indicated a response to our correspondence can be expected. There were suggestions that the promised Consultants Report had not even been prepared despite earlier assurances.
(c) Red, White & Blue Planting Area – further details awaited although a suitable site had been identified.
(d) Community Network Meeting – Cllr Knightley had provided a report which the Chairman read out.
(e) Sladesbridge Footpath overgrowth - the Clerk had reported this and limited clearance had taken place.
91. St. Conans Church
Cllr Eddy referred to the lack of grass cutting etc in the Churchyard in recent times and the possible assistance the Parish Council may be able to provide. Reference was made to the two local Estates who had Memorials etc in the grounds and the possibility of contributions to upkeep. An approach to the P.C.C. may also be of benefit, whilst recognizing that there is a move to “wildlife” churchyards, with a much reduced cutting regime. Initially the Chairman will contact the P.C.C.
